VP OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

JOB DESCRIPTION

Simplifyber is looking for a fast-burning, self-motivated business leader to shape and execute the Company’s Business Development goals. This is a full-time position in a fast-paced, fast-growing startup. Collaborative, creative, multi-disciplinary team, blending scientific innovation with design, fashion and business. Compensation will include both salary and equity. The VP of Business Development will be working directly with Simplifyber’s CEO, COO, and CTO to create the company’s sales strategy, identify business opportunities, and drive sales.   

Travel is required.

Location: New York, NY; Nashville, TN; Raleigh, NC. We also have two additional remote teams in Canada: one in Vancouver, the other is near Montreal. Occasional travel between locations will be required. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and execute business and sales strategy

  • Identify and select areas of business opportunity

  • Drive revenue within selected areas

  • Manage CRM

  • Identify, track, and close leads (convert leads to paying customers)

  • Manage customer relationships

  • Lead relevant team and client meetings

  • Generate new company revenue

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have an entrepreneurial spirit, very responsive, hands-on attitude, and willing to work hard in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience managing teams

  • Ability to prepare budgets, with regard to a business development / sales roadmap

  • Proven leadership abilities with high-performing teams

  • High emotional intelligence

  • Ability to build strong relationships with key executives and C-level clients

  • Experience in selling within the US (offshore sales is a bonus)

  • Deep understanding of the sales cycle and strong negotiation skills

  • Meticulous attention to detail and creative follow-up

  • Disciplined and competitive self-starter

  • Polished and influential public speaker and presenter

  • Track record of consistently delivering revenue

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • MBA is a plus
